Our Latest Albums: Bethesda and Magdala!
Moriah is here! Our Latest Album!
Most bands wouldn’t release sister albums just weeks apart.
We’re not most bands.
Magdala and Bethesda are companion records — two sides of the same world.
Magdala burns hot with frontier fire, grit, and urgency.
Bethesda runs cool and deep, carried by folk textures, water, and reflection.
Two albums. One vision.

Magdala Released

This month marks the release of Magdala, the first half of our double sister album project. Featuring songs like “Outlaw,” “Remember Me,” “You Can Have My Wallet,” “The Frontier,” and “Twirl,” Magdala carries what we’ve come to call the fireside spirit of the pair — warm, rugged, story-driven, and rooted in grit and flame.
Its counterpart, Bethesda, arrives in February 2026 as the cool water side of the journey. Together, the two albums form one complete vision, but each carries its own atmosphere, weight, and sound.

Bethesda Released

This month also marks the release of Bethesda, the second half of our double sister album project. Where Magdala carries the fireside spirit — warm, rugged, and flame-lit — Bethesda moves like cool water. Reflective, weighty, and steady. Featuring songs such as “The Death of Death,” “Questions,” “Nothing Left to Defend,” and “The Sermon of the Wilds,” the album leans into depth, tension, and quiet strength.
Together, Magdala and Bethesda form one complete vision. Fire and water. Heat and healing. Grit and stillness.
If we were a traditional band aiming simply to stretch releases for maximum profit, we probably would have spaced these albums out by three years. But our goal has always been to give our listeners the music while it’s ready — while it’s alive. So instead, we released two full-length albums totaling over three hours of music within a month of each other.
It’s ambitious. Maybe a little wild.
But it felt right.
And we’re grateful you’re here for it.

Moriah Released

Moriah is an album built on contrast, and that contrast is entirely intentional.
Following Bethlehem and its blue-toned aesthetic, Moriah steps forward with a deep red identity that reflects both intensity and sacrifice. The music follows that same dual nature. Some of the band’s heaviest work to date lives here, with tracks like Rattle the Bones and Cowgirls from Heaven bringing weight, grit, and energy. At the same time, the album holds some of its most refined and elegant moments in songs like For Me and Son of Man, where restraint and melody take the lead.
Rather than choosing one direction, Moriah embraces both. It moves between power and stillness, between force and reflection. Two distinct personalities are woven into a single project.
That tension is the point.
The result is an album that does not settle into one sound or mood. Instead, it explores the full range of what the band set out to create. Music that is both bold and thoughtful, grounded and expansive, and ultimately centered on something greater than itself.

The Live Album
We’re also releasing a live album in the first half of 2026 featuring concert-style versions of some of our more popular tracks. It’s meant to capture the energy and atmosphere of a Shunned at a Funeral performance — raw, communal, and alive. It will be available on all streaming platforms.

Bethlehem Film Tour
There’s been a lot of chatter online lately questioning whether Bethlehem would ever actually make it to a theater.
We’re excited to say… it is.

Bethlehem is now officially confirmed to be shown at the Rogue Theatre on December 5th, with two showings at 2:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. Tickets will be $20, and we’ll make a full announcement as soon as they go on sale.

This is something we’ve been working toward for a long time, and it means a lot to finally be able to share it in a setting that does it justice. The Rogue Theatre is a beautifully restored venue, and we believe it’s the perfect place to experience Bethlehem the way it was intended.

We’re excited to give people the full Shunned at a Funeral experience in a true cinematic environment.
More dates and locations to come.
