AND WE SANG A NEW SONG

(Music and Lyrics by Howard E.)

And We Sang New Song

Intro
We stood amazed upon dry land,
The walls of water held by His hand.
Pharaoh’s army sinking deep,
God’s promise sure, His word He keeps.
And moved by awe, our hearts aflame,
We raised our voices, praised His name.
And this is what we sang!

Verse 1
Mighty God, You broke the chains,
Brought us out from Pharaoh’s reign.
Sea divided at Your command,
Delivered safely by Your hand.
Darkness chased by heaven’s light,
Freedom found in Yahweh’s might.

Pre-Chorus
Who is like You, Lord, strong and true?
No other God can do what You do!

Chorus
Sing, sing, praise the Lord our King!
Rider thrown into the sea,
Savior God, our victory.
Sing, sing, let redemption ring!
You delivered Israel,
And Your wonders we will tell!

Verse 2
Slaves no longer, now we’re free,
Children chosen, redeemed are we.
Cloud by day, fire by night,
Your presence guides, our souls delight.
Bread from heaven, water sweet,
You satisfy our every need.

Bridge
From slavery to liberty,
Your sovereign grace has set us free.
A nation born from Your command,
Forever held within Your hand.
With hearts renewed, we lift our voice,
In Yahweh's love, we now rejoice!

Chorus
Sing, sing, praise the Lord our King!
Rider thrown into the sea,
Savior God, our victory.
Sing, sing, let redemption ring!
You delivered Israel,
And Your wonders we will tell!

Outro
Forevermore, our God, we praise,
Forevermore, our God, we praise.

LYSTRA

(Music and Lyrics by Howard E.)

Intro
Stones fell hard in Lystra’s square,
Truth was preached, and none could bear—
The light that burned through hearts of stone,
So they struck to silence what was shown.

Verse 1
Dragged him out, blood on the ground,
No heartbeat, no pulse, no sound.
They thought they'd crushed the zeal he bore,
Left him lifeless at death’s door.
But heaven's breath blew through his chest,
He rose again—no time for rest.
Bruised and torn, not backing down,
He walked straight back into town.

Pre-Chorus
What kind of man walks back through pain?
With joy like thunder in the rain?
What fire within defies despair?
Who bleeds and still declares, “I dare”?

Chorus
We sang that night with broken ribs,
Through tear-streaked eyes and shattered lips.
The joy of Christ, our healing balm,
More fierce than fear, more deep than calm.
The wounds, the threats—they couldn't steal
The love we know, the joy we feel!

Verse 2
Stone to skull, and grace to ground,
But truth, not silence, wraps the sound.
Each strike they cast became a hymn,
Each bruise a mark that pointed Him.
Demons flinch and tyrants pale,
When saints rise up who will not fail.
Back inside that cursed gate,
Paul stood tall—resurrected faith.

Pre-Chorus
Not for pride, or worldly gain,
But love that sings through lashes’ pain.
Not for ease or man's acclaim,
But for the Lamb who bore our shame.

Chorus
We sang that night with broken ribs,
Through tear-streaked eyes and shattered lips.
The joy of Christ, our healing balm,
More fierce than fear, more deep than calm.
The wounds, the threats—they couldn't steal
The love we know, the joy we feel!

Bridge
This world throws stones, but we throw praise.
This world brings death, but Christ will raise.
They see a fool—we see the crown.
We rise again—we don’t stay down.

Final Chorus
We danced that day with souls on fire,
His joy our strength, our one desire.
Though bruised and bloodied, we still grin—
He took the cross; we go right in.
The wounds, the threats—they couldn’t steal
The love we know, the joy we feel.

Outro
So stone us, beat us, curse our name,
We'll rise with joy and praise the same.
For every scar will one day sing—
He is our life, our risen King.

Set apart by sovereign love

Sovereign Love

SOVEREIGN LOVE

(Music and Lyrics by Howard E.)

Verse 1
O Sovereign Lord, eternal King,
Who fashioned earth and skies,
In wisdom vast You planned all things,
Before creation's cries.
Your counsel firm, decree divine,
Established from of old,
In redemptive grace, Your glories shine,
In scripture now retold.

Verse 2
From fallen Adam's darkened race,
You chose a treasured fold,
And sent Your Son in flesh and grace,
The Lamb long foretold.
Upon the cross, His blood was spilled,
A ransom for His sheep,
All righteous claims He thus fulfilled,
Redemption vast and deep.

Verse 3
In sovereign love, You call and keep,
Your flock secure and free,
No power of hell nor darkness deep,
Shall pluck Your own from Thee.
Grace irresistible and strong,
Your chosen ones embrace,
Preserving us amidst the throng,
Till we behold Your face.

Verse 4
Our risen Christ, ascended high,
Will soon return again,
With trumpet blast to rend the sky,
As Lord and Judge of men.
He comes to heal creation's groan,
Restoring earth and heav'n,
To reign forever on His throne,
His kingdom fully giv'n.

Verse 5
All praise to You, O Triune God,
Your sovereign ways adored,
We bow beneath Your gracious rod,
And glorify our Lord.
Come quickly, Christ, our hearts implore,
Fulfill redemption’s goal,
That we might praise You evermore,
With heart and mind and soul.

Chorus (Repeated - Verse 3)
In sovereign love, You call and keep,
Your flock secure and free,
No power of hell nor darkness deep,
Shall pluck Your own from Thee.
Grace irresistible and strong,
Your chosen ones embrace,
Preserving us amidst the throng,
Till we behold Your face.

Through tulip fields where colors flow
Beneath the sky's vast sovereign span
She ponders grace, salvation's plan

Verse 1
Petals blooming, scarlet, gold
Stories ancient, doctrines bold
Chosen blooms, in fields arranged
Love ordained, fore'er unchanged

The whispered truth in colors traced
Mercy sovereign, freely placed
Every tulip testifies
Whispered grace that sanctifies
Fields reflecting heaven’s choice
Quiet blooms become her voice

Fields of tulips, truth divine

Grace unmerited she breathes
Through fragile stems and humble leaves
Redemption’s strength in colored waves

The True Ark

THE TRUE ARK

(Music and Lyrics by Howard E.)

Intro
In careless laughter, we danced and played
We mocked the warnings, felt unafraid
Giants walked, we praised their might
Blindly stepping into endless night

Verse 1
Giants stood on mountains high
We cheered their strength, ignored the sky
Warnings whispered, brushed away
We lived as if there'd be no day

Pre-Chorus
Then thunder roared, the heavens cried
And every comfort swept aside
Too late to run, too late to hide
The storm has come, our hopes denied

Chorus
Let me in, oh Ark divine
Shelter me, Lord, one last time
My pride undone, I clearly see
Only Christ can rescue me
Let me in, Your mercy wide
My broken heart, my humbled pride
Jesus Christ, the only Ark
Save me from this endless dark

Verse 2
The flood rose swift, our laughter ceased
Every idol, every feast
Washed away beneath the waves
Too late now to misbehave

Pre-Chorus
We mocked His name, ignored the signs
Our souls now bound in fear’s confines
Tears mix with rain as regrets begin
Crying loud, “Lord, let me in!”

Chorus
Let me in, oh Ark divine
Shelter me, Lord, one last time
My pride undone, I clearly see
Only Christ can rescue me
Let me in, Your mercy wide
My broken heart, my humbled pride
Jesus Christ, the only Ark
Save me from this endless dark

Bridge
Water rises, my heart sinks deep
Regretful prayers I weep, I weep
Too long I've waited, now I call
Jesus, Savior, Lord of all

Chorus
Let me in, oh Ark divine
Shelter me, Lord, one last time
My pride undone, I clearly see
Only Christ can rescue me
Let me in, Your mercy wide
My broken heart, my humbled pride

The Scarlet Thread

THE SCARLET THREAD

(Music and Lyrics by Howard E.)

Intro
Scarlet thread, a window hung,
Mercy bound from faith unsung.
A heart redeemed, a future sown,
Grace through her, His lineage known.

Verse 1
Behind Jericho's walls, hope unseen,
Stood Rahab, shadowed by past routine.
Her life woven dark, defined by shame,
Yet she knew, heard whispers of His name.
Rumors spoke of seas undone,
Of a people led by a God who’d won.
When spies appeared, her moment drew—
By faith alone, her soul made new.

Pre-Chorus
Beneath the stars, her heart discerned
A deeper truth her spirit yearned:
A living God who saves, restores—
Her scarlet thread, redemption pours.

Chorus
Rahab, Rahab, mercy chose
The humble heart the proud oppose.
By faith, you dared to risk it all;
Your scarlet thread, a Savior’s call.
In His lineage, now engraved—
Rahab, Rahab, sinner saved.

Verse 2
She hid them safely, brave yet meek,
Her faith confessed, redemption’s peak.
“I know your God,” she trembling said,
Her heart sincere, her old life shed.
The walls of stone, so proud, secure,
Would fall, collapse, and not endure.
But her small house, redemption's place,
Marked by a thread, redeemed by grace.

Pre-Chorus
Trumpets blast, the city shakes,
Her scarlet cord, salvation wakes.
In humble trust, she took her stand—
A stranger called to Promised Land.

Chorus
Rahab, Rahab, mercy chose
The humble heart the proud oppose.
By faith, you dared to risk it all;
Your scarlet thread, a Savior’s call.
In His lineage, now engraved—
Rahab, Rahab, sinner saved.

Bridge
Oh, woman scarred by life’s disdain,
God chose your heart to bear His name.
From outcast shadows, now reclaimed,
In Christ’s own line forever named.
From broken stories, sovereign hand,
By grace alone, redemption planned.
Faithful woman, once despised—
In you, the cross is prophesied.

Chorus
Rahab, Rahab, mercy chose
The humble heart the proud oppose.
By faith, you dared to risk it all;
Your scarlet thread, a Savior’s call.
In His lineage, now engraved—

(Music and Lyrics by Howard E.)

Intro
Chosen mother, humble girl
Bearer of the hope of world
Never raised above His place
Simply pointing to His grace

Verse 1
Temples filled with candles bright
Prayers ascend into the night
Mary lifted, praised and crowned
While Christ’s glory pushed aside

Pre-Chorus
Yet your heart would never claim
Worship, praise, or holy fame
Mary lifted, praised and crowned
While Christ’s glory pushed aside

Chorus
Hail Mary full of grace, Grace!
Yet Christ alone redeems, Redeems!
Blessed among all women, Blessed!
Yet Jesus reigns supreme, Supreme!
Mary, can’t you see, See!
What this has become, Become!
They offer you the worship, No!
That belongs to your Son! Your Son!

Clouding Christ, obscuring light
Mediator placed on high
Truth exchanged for pleasing lies

Pre-Chorus

“Do whatever He tells you”
Truth exchanged for pleasing lies

Hail...Mary
Then I Wept

THEN I WEPT

(Music and Lyrics by Howard E.)

Intro
Shrouded vision, endless throne
Crystal sea and Jasper stone
Heaven’s silence, deep and cold
Ancient scroll no hand can hold

Verse 1
I gazed into eternal courts, where elders knelt in awe
With crowns they cast on emerald glass, fulfilling holy law
The fourfold creatures worshipped Him whose radiance is fire
Yet in His hand, a scroll so grand—my heart swelled with desire

Pre-Chorus
Then came the voice with angel’s cry, a call from realm unknown
"Who is worthy here?" resounded clear, through every heart and throne
I searched all heaven, earth, below—no champion appeared
And overwhelmed, I sank and knelt, my eyes consumed with tears

Chorus
Then I wept, I wept,
For the scroll remained unopened
My soul bereft, hope swept,
By despair the scene was frozen
Yet behold, behold!
One approached in strength and splendor
A Lamb of old, slain bold—
Worthy now, our great defender

Verse 2
An elder's hand upon my form, with comfort, urged me rise
“Behold the Lion, Judah’s heir, the root of David wise”
Yet as I turned, no Lion fierce—a Lamb slain standing there
Scars profound, eternal wounds, He stepped to Heaven’s stair

Pre-Chorus
With gentle power He drew near, creation holding breath
The Lamb once slain, alive again, the Victor over death
His hand reached forth, took up the scroll, the cosmos gave reply
My weeping ceased, as praise unleashed, from earth and heaven’s sky

Chorus
Then I wept, I wept,
For redemption now unfolding
No secret kept, sin’s debt,
In His scars, my heart beholding
Praise resounds, resounds!
Every tribe and tongue confessing
The Lamb is crowned, unbound—
Worthy of eternal blessing

Bridge
Worthy, worthy, heaven cried
Worthy, worthy, glorified
For You were slain, redemption’s cost
To ransom hearts forever lost
Kings and priests Your blood has made
In robes of white, our debts repaid
Glory, power, honor, fame
Eternity exalts Your Name!

Chorus
And I leap, I leap,
Tears of joy, my heart surrendered
My soul complete, redeemed—
By His wounds, forever mended
Let praise ascend, no end!
To the Lamb whose life is given
Alpha, Omega, friend—
He alone, our King of Heaven

Outro
Now elders fall and angels bow
All creation singing now
My weeping eyes, forever clear

What About You?

WHAT ABOUT YOU?

(Music and Lyrics by Howard E.)

Intro
What kind of soul bears this shame?
I wear my guilt, I own my name.
The mirror cracks, I face the flood—
A heart that drips with ancient blood.

Verse 1
I’ve cursed with lips that praise the Lord,
I've raised my fist, ignored His sword.
I’ve envied peace I would not make,
I've smiled while watching others break.
I've taken what was never mine,
I’ve dressed my greed in words divine.
I’ve knelt before the gods I built,
With hollow faith and hidden guilt.

Pre-Chorus
So what kind of person dares to sing?
A rebel soul, a shattered thing...

Chorus
I'm the type that needs Jesus!
Scarred and sinful, soul diseased—
I ain't righteous, I ain't decent—
Just the kind that needs to be redeemed.
No excuses, no disguise—
I'm the kind He had to die for...
Yeah, I'm the type that needs Jesus.
What about you?

Verse 2
I’ve lied with charm, I’ve loved in vain,
I’ve found my thrill in someone’s pain.
I’ve honored pride and crushed the weak,
Then cried for mercy when I’d speak.
I’ve murdered hearts with poisoned words,
Denied the truth I once had heard.
I’ve fed the fire, I've stoked the flames—
And tried to hide behind His name.

Pre-Chorus
So what kind of woman still lifts her eyes?
A wretch reborn, a soul baptized…

Chorus
I'm the type that needs Jesus!
Scarred and sinful, soul diseased—
I ain't righteous, I ain't decent—
Just the kind that needs to be redeemed.
No excuses, no disguise—
I'm the kind He had to die for...
Yeah, I'm the type that needs Jesus.
What about you?

Bridge
You think you’re fine? So did I.
'Til grace exposed my alibi.
Not one is clean, not one is good—
But He still bled like only God could.

Final Chorus
I'm the type that needs Jesus!
Filthy hands and busted soul—
But He still says I'm worth the bleeding,
Still the one He came to hold.
If there's hope for one like me,
Then there's hope enough for you...
Yeah, I'm the type that needs Jesus.
What about you?

Outro
What about you?
What about you…?

What About You?
Washing the Feet of God

WASHING THE FEET OF GOD

(Music and Lyrics by Howard E.)

Verse 1
In shadows bound, my soul confined,
Tormented heart by sin entwined.
Seven demons held me fast,
In chains of shame, my life was cast.

Chorus
Oh Jesus, Savior, Holy Lamb,
Before Your feet, redeemed, I am.
My tears like rivers cleanse Your feet,
In sorrow, love, and joy complete.

Verse 2
But then His voice, a tranquil sea,
Spoke gentle words that set me free.
My name He called, His eyes divine,
In darkness shone redemption’s sign.

Verse 3
At Calvary's mount, the sky grew dim,
My heart did break, beholding Him.
My Savior nailed upon the tree,
Bearing my sin, to set me free.

Verse 4
But dawn did break, and darkness fled,
I came to mourn—He was not dead.
An empty tomb, my grief reversed,
The Risen One, He spoke me first.

Bridge
“Rabboni!” cried my joyous soul,
My brokenness now healed and whole.
With trembling hands, I reached to hold,
Yet sent was I, His news foretold.

Chorus
Oh Jesus, Savior, Holy Lamb,
Forevermore my voice shall praise,
The Christ!

Washing The Feet
Joseph's Myth Jr.

JOSEPH'S MYTH JR.

(Music and Lyrics by Howard E.)

Verse 1
He walked through the groves with a tale to tell,
Of angels and gold in a forest dell.
He said a vision lit the skies,
But did it come from God—or lies?
With seer stones deep in a neighbor’s well,
He searched for silver, cast his spell.
The roots grew strange, the soil untrue,
A gospel born, but not from You.

Pre-Chorus
He spoke of saints, of Zion's call,
But built a kingdom bound to fall.
From secret wives and hidden plans,
To temples built by human hands.

Chorus
You shall know them by their fruits—
These are bitter, cracked, and dry.
Not the sweetness of the vine,
But a poison dressed in light.
Oh, my heart breaks for the lost,
For the ones he led astray.
Jesus, show them who You are—
The Truth, the Life, the Way.

Verse 2
He claimed the plates, yet kept them sealed,
No eye but his, the truth concealed.
A prophet’s cloak, a mimic’s thread,
A doctrine shifting as it spread.
From burning bosoms built on sand,
To priesthood lines of mortal hand.
What of Christ, the Lamb once slain?
Where is grace, and why the chain?

Pre-Chorus
In sacred names, he claimed the right,
To marry many in the night.
A temple veil to hide the cost,
But gain the world, and all is lost.

Chorus
You shall know them by their fruits—
These are bitter, bruised, and bare.
Not the fruit that heals the soul,
But a weight too hard to bear.
Still I love the ones he taught,
And I pray with tearful voice—
That they’d know the risen Lord,
The cross, the grave, the choice.

Bridge
Not in shadows, not in dreams,
Not in man-made gods or schemes.
But in Christ, the Word made flesh,
In Him alone we’re counted blessed.
No secret rites, no hidden keys,
No endless works to try to please.
Just faith in One who took our place,
Who met the law with truth and grace.

Final Chorus
You shall know them by their fruits—
These are bitter, false, and worn.
But the Vine still calls the branches,
To be grafted, to be born.
Yes, I love you, Mormon neighbor,
You're not my enemy, but kin.
I just want you to know Jesus—
Not a prophet steeped in sin.

Outro
You shall know Him by His mercy,
By His blood and by His scars.
Not a seer with buried treasure,
But the Savior crowned with stars.

The Waiting Room

THE WAITING ROOM

(Music and Lyrics by Howard E.)

Intro
In stillness held behind the veil,
Where saints await the promised trail,
The silence breathes a sacred sign—
A whisper in the Waiting Room Divine.

Verse 1
The patriarchs with eyes like flame,
Still bearing faith and not the blame.
Abraham and David wait
For mercy’s Lamb to open gate.
Moses dreams of law fulfilled,
While Jacob rests with thirst now stilled.
No shadow creeps in Paradise,
But still they long for sacrifice.

Pre-Chorus
“Is this the hour? Is that His breath?”
A stir moves through the courts of death.

Chorus
In the Waiting Room Divine,
We held the line through endless time.
Our hope was stitched in every sigh—
The Promised One would come and cry.
And now the ground begins to quake...
The veil is torn, the stone will break—
He’s come to claim what’s always mine...
This Waiting Room Divine.

Verse 2
A hush falls over Eden's gate,
A single soul walks in, not late.
The thief arrives before the kings,
His cross-stained feet now touch these wings.
“Today,” said Christ, “you'll be with Me”—
And he believed, and now walks free.
The first to see the kingdom come,
He weeps and laughs—what grace has done.

Pre-Chorus
We rise, we stand, the gates unwind...
He walks through death and leaves no bind...

Bridge
Across the gulf, He cast His word,
To those in chains who never heard.
A chasm deep, but not too wide,
For heaven’s Judge with pierced side.
Condemned they watched, yet still He came,
To speak of life through burning flame.
But none would cross who scorned the Light—
They shook beneath His holy might.

Final Chorus
In the Waiting Room Divine,
The saints arise, the bells align.
From Adam’s dust to promised land—
We rise to see the Savior stand.
No grave could hold, no death confine,
The love that crossed the great divide.
He’s come to claim what’s always mine...
This Waiting Room Divine.

SCRIPTURE

(Music and Lyrics by Howard E.)

Intro
Silent room, untouched bed,
Echoes linger, words unsaid,
Shattered dreams on midnight's floor,
Still, there's something more.

Verse 1
Twinkling eyes, laughter bright,
Stolen in one careless night,
A driver blind with choices made,
Took the light, my hope betrayed.

Pre-Chorus
Every tear that falls, a silent prayer,
Yet, I sense a peace in my despair.

Chorus
Because mercy found me first,
Through pain profound, my heart immersed.
How could I deny the grace,
When Christ forgave my darker days?
Though my child I'll see no more,
I choose to forgive, restore,
For His love is greater still,
And I'll trust in His good will.

Verse 2
Courtroom walls, the silence loud,
One broken man beneath the cloud,
His trembling gaze, regretful eyes,
My broken heart now crucified.

Pre-Chorus
Yet deeper than this grief I bear,
I hear my Savior whisper there.

Chorus
Because mercy found me first,
Through pain profound, my heart immersed.
How could I deny the grace,

Though my child I'll see no more,
I choose to forgive, restore,
For His love is greater still,
And I'll trust in His good will.

I Killed My Brother

I KILLED MY BROTHER

(Music and Lyrics by Howard E.)

Intro
I cast the stone—my fingers bled.
I watched the righteous fall and plead.
The dust rose high; the sky turned gray.
I didn’t flinch… until he prayed.

Verse 1
His gaze turned upward through the stones.
A fire flickered in his frame—
Not rage, but grace that clung to bone.
I heard him say…
I heard him pray…
And still I threw the stone away.

Chorus
And I stood there with the blood still warm,
Heart held hostage, soul not torn.
But his voice would echo night and day—
“Forgive them, Lord…” I heard him say.

Verse 2
I ran from light, but light pursued—
His words would haunt the hollow ground.
Through temple walls and crowded streets,
My shame wrapped tight beneath my feet.
I washed, but still the stains remained—
A ghost of mercy in his name.
I heard him say…
I heard him pray…
And still I felt my soul decay.

Chorus
And I stood there with the blood still warm,
Heart held hostage, soul not torn.
But his voice would echo night and day—
“Forgive them, Lord…” I heard him say.

Bridge
The words that broke me set me free.
A man condemned became my plea.
The wrath I stoked now burned away—
I breathe because I heard him pray.

Outro
And I knelt there where his body lay,
Ashamed of stone, but not too late.
Forgiveness met me in the clay—
Because he prayed… I heard him say.

Intro
Saw them gathering two by two, under skies of gold and gray
Eyes alive with holy fire, sent to speak, to lead the way

Verse 1

Brimming hearts and shaking hands, courage flowing through the air
They carried news the world forgot, a truth they had to tell
Light the flame in darkest night, ring heaven's saving bell

He spoke with power, sent them forth
To heal, proclaim from south to north
Their joy was fierce, their purpose clear
With just His word, they conquered fear

Chorus
He said, "Go now, share the news that's brightening
For I have seen Satan fall like lightning"
They went out fearless, hearts igniting
"For I have seen Satan fall like lightning"

Watching closely from afar, my heart began to burn
These ordinary souls transformed, never to return
Villages and towns awake, broken made brand new

To heal, proclaim from south to north
Their joy was fierce, their purpose clear
With just His word, they conquered fear

The Unforgiving

THE UNFORGIVING

(Music and Lyrics by Howard E.)

Intro
A weight of debt I could not pay
Yet freely pardoned on that day
Chains released, forgiven free
Grace undeserved poured over me

Verse 1
A King once called my endless debt,
Ten thousand lifetimes owed and set.
Fell trembling low, no hope to claim,
Yet mercy flowed, erased my shame.
He whispered gently, "Go your way,"
My burdens vanished, no delay.

Verse 2
Yet moments later, blinded sight,
I seized my brother—debt so slight.
I held him by his throat and cried,
"Pay now or face my wrath and pride!"
He pleaded, kneeling at my feet,
But mercy died in pride's deceit.

Chorus
I've been forgiven much, yet mercy I've denied
Ten thousand sins erased, but love I've cast aside
Lord, pierce my hardened heart; help me clearly see
How can I withhold grace when You've forgiven me?

Verse 3
Word reached the throne, I stood accused,
The master's kindness I abused.
His eyes ablaze with grief and pain,
"You evil servant, bound by chain!
You worthless heart, your blindness vast,
I pardoned all your shameful past.
Yet here you judge your brother’s fall,
Rejecting grace, forsaking all."

Verse 4
In trembling fear, my pride exposed,
The prison doors behind me closed.
In darkness there, I heard Him say,
"As you forgive, so you'll be weighed."

Chorus
I've been forgiven much, yet mercy I've denied
Ten thousand sins erased, but love I've cast aside
Lord, pierce my hardened heart; help me clearly see
How can I withhold grace when You've forgiven me?

[Intro – 3/4 time, sparse banjo plucks, atmospheric textures, whispered vocal tone]
The blood runs red but I stay blind (A)
Each step I take, I cross the line (B)
The thorn was mine, but love designed (A)
I whispered lies behind the veil (B)
And watched His body start to break (C)
Each silent sin a driving nail (B)
I saw the hands that heal the soul (C)
Now pierced because of what I crave (D)
I kissed the truth, and played the role (C)
And every time I choose the dark (D)
It’s me who strikes the holy spark—
I see the thorn, I light the mark...
Nailed again, I drove it in—
Each selfish urge, another sin.
Crown of thorns, I press it down—
I trade His love for my own crown.
But still He bleeds, and still He stays,
My Savior stands through all my strays—
I nailed Him once... I nail Him now.
God help me lay the hammer down.
I stab His side with what I hide (E)
I cast my shame like sacred stone (F)
I run while grace is crucified (E)
The silence echoes through my chest (F)
Each mercy met with my deceit (G)
Yet still He offers perfect rest (F)
I wear the weight.
I feel the heat.
But still His love won’t retreat...
Nailed again, I drove it in—
Each selfish urge, another sin.
Crown of thorns, I press it down—
I trade His love for my own crown.
But still He bleeds, and still He stays,
My Savior stands through all my strays—
I nailed Him once... I nail Him now.
God help me lay the hammer down.
I was the hammer.
I was the thorn.
He took it silent...
Tattered and torn.
But now I tremble—
Grace won’t let go.
He wore my death
So I could know...
Nailed again, I drove it in—
But He turned wrath into a win.
Crown of thorns, now changed to grace—
And still He calls me to His face.
The blood I spilled has made me whole—
The cross I cursed, now claims my soul—
I nailed Him once... I nail Him still.
But He forgives, and always will.
